I'm looking forward to continuing this journey with you. I'm not flighty and anyone who knows me would agree that I thrive on consistency and that's why I have struggled with this change, but after some prayer and reflection, I feel this FINAL change is necessary...so, here I go. Thanks for bearing with me.

Rejoice and Repeat
This is the last time. I promise. I've been debating back and forth over this change for a long time. When I titled this blog once upon a time I just fell in love with the whimsy that came with the title. I simply began this blog as an outlet and a way to also keep our family up to date, but have since seen how God has begun to use this as a form of ministry, a way to connect, and I've loved the feedback from those of you who read it. I've really been focusing on what I'd like to see in my blog and what content I want to share with my readers...plus, if you do a search, there are multiple blogs with the same or similar titles (apparently Faith, Trust and Pixi Dust is pretty popular) and I've been told this makes finding my blog a little difficult. With that being said, I'll be changing the title to Rejoice and Repeat...and here's why.
Over the last 4 years throughout our lives God has guided my husband and I through many trials. We've laughed, cried, yelled, and cheered. Through everything I have been reminded that we are immeasurably blessed despite our circumstances. In accordance with His word, we are called to Rejoice in all things...not just some of them...All of them. This means we have to repeat this action time and time again for the best results. As a poor comparison think of the instructions on the back of your favorite shampoo. For best results, rinse and repeat. Living in a state of rejoicing and gratitude has to be intentional. Rejoice and repeat.
I'm looking forward to continuing this journey with you. I'm not flighty and anyone who knows me would agree that I thrive on consistency and that's why I have struggled with this change, but after some prayer and reflection, I feel this FINAL change is necessary...so, here I go. Thanks for bearing with me.

Thoughts on Thursday
All I can think of as I'm typing this is that I'm in this nice hotel room with a plush king size bed...and have been for 3 days...and I've yet to have a good night's sleep. Vacations were so different before parenthood.
I go to sleep in anticipation of sweet dreams and rejuvenation...so why do I feel like I've been run over by a truck?
This precious little face. Yes, believe it or not, this tiny human is the reason.
I totally get being in a new place. We never sleep as well as we do at home. In her defense the first night was not entirely her fault. At midnight a ridiculously loud child came running down the hallway yelling, followed by an apparently unconcerned parent. Grrr. G ended up in our bed (which personally has never been allowed but we did what we had to). When she was not sleeping sideways, her tiny body was pressed into the small of my back. I couldn't move.
The second night was similar except it was around 1:30 am and the culprits were random loud adults. It was another sleepless night.
I kept kicking myself for not bringing her bedtime music to drown out the noises.
The final night of our stay was much better despite some crazy person slamming a door across the hall 3! times at 4:30 am. I just knew she'd wake up but praise the Lord, a couple mumbles were all we heard.
This is not the first time we've traveled and stayed in a hotel with her, but it seems as she gets older that she is having more difficulty sleeping in new places.
These are things we currently do to help her sleep away from home:
-extra padding on her Pack -N- Play "mattress" to make it feel more like her one at home
-Play her bedtime music (when we remember to bring it)
-keep closely to her normal bedtime routine
-wear her out during the day
-lay her down with her moose and "night night" blankie
We'll continue to live and learn but I'd love suggestions to make our future vacations a little more peaceful. What works for you?
...and thanks for stopping by to join myself and others like Natalie for this week's Thoughts for Thursday!

Toddler Snacks for the Road
::via::
I'm slowly wrapping my brain around the idea of having a toddler. A toddler! Our beautiful babe is 15 months old and counting. When did this happen?! I think I ask myself that question with every milestone.
She's made multiple road trips during her short little life and with each trip new issues arise. Gone are the days when she would sleep almost the entire car ride. Now she wants to be entertained for the majority of the trip. Thank goodness for board books, a backseat mirror and the Frozen movie soundtrack.
She also likes to snack and I'm personally not a huge fan of passing food off to the backseat. That paranoid part of me fears her choking and me not being able to get to her soon enough. However, the more teeth she gets the less stressed I become over the matter.
Our road trip essentials generally include (but not limited to) a first aid kit, water (generally in a small cooler), a blanket and of course some snacks. You never know what the open road will bring.
Our upcoming family road trip will be no exception. I always debate what snacks to bring for G. Of course goldfish and animal crackers make their way into the bag for hotel munchies (and on those rare occasions when she'll eat nothing else). For our upcoming trip I opted for the following*:
GoGo Squeez Applesauce On The Go pouches-These healthy snacks are one of G's favorites. Unless she gets a wild hair and decides to squeeze before the spout hits her mouth, there is no mess. She's been enjoying these for several months and was an instant pro. They come in a variety of flavors. (I want to invest in some reusable pouches but have yet to decide which brand I want, so for now, these will do.)
Organic Teensy Fruits from Plum Organic- While I'm not personally obsessed with buying organic, I did run across these awesome toddler snacks. They are similar to fruit leather but softer and more toddler friendly. I only buy these on occasion but I feel comfortable passing back a pouch without any major choking worries.
Sun-Maid Raisins- G was recently introduced to raisins...and she loves them! I bought a box of them and keep them in the fridge. According to package directions they can last up to two years if kept in the refrigerator after opening...granted I know ours will not last that long. It is generally more cost effective to buy a regular box and bag your own for the sitter or car trips. I just happened upon a good deal on the mini-snack boxes and thought they'd be perfect for our trip.
Of course there are tons! of other snacks you could bring along for your little one. These just happen to be a few that our little one enjoys.
What road trip snacks to you bring along for your itty bitty?

15 Months
15 months. For 15
months (not including those 37 ½ weeks in the womb) this beautiful little blue
eyed, redhead has been adding an element of magic to our lives. We’ve cherished
every fleeting moment. We grow more in love with her each and every day…we’re
still baffled at how our hearts have not exploded from our amount of love for
this toddling, tiny human.
Be still my heart...
Stats: We’ll know July 29th.
-Clothing: 18 months
-Shoe size: 4
Meal time: You’ve yet to meet a food that you just hate,
with the exception of beets and string cheese…and oh yeah, cucumbers. Your love
of grapes and bananas continues. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are enjoyed
on a regular basis and whole grain goldfish and raisins are your go-to snacks. I think you could eat eggs for almost every meal
and be perfectly content. Your eating habits have changed though. You still eat
three meals a day, but the quantity is less while your snack times have
remained the same. We did discover you have a mild allergy to both ketchup and
pizza sauce from a local Italian restaurant (but it’s not a full blown tomato
allergy since you enjoy spaghetti and other tomato based sauces without
incident.)
Playtime: You have several little buddies. We’ve been enjoying play dates this summer with them that have ranged from water tables and swing sets to the spray ground and pool time. You love putting tops on boxes and you are constantly collecting things and putting them in buckets and boxes. You do a pretty good job at stacking as well. Music still thrills your little heart and now you can dance…well sway side to side and shake your little booty (sort of). “If You’re Happy and You Know It” is your favorite song and the Frozen soundtrack chills you out in a way that no lullaby can. You are in love with the outdoors. We play outside often in your pool. You also love playing with the cats and your toys. One of your most favorite things to do is to sit in your little lawn chair whether it’s inside while watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or outside pointing at the birds. Bella is your FAVORITE toy! We can’t go anywhere without that little moose.
Sleepy time: You have always been a good sleeper. Currently you nap around 10am for about 45 minutes. In the afternoon you lie down around 2:30pm and sleep for about 2 hours. Your morning naps are starting to become fewer. You lie down for the night between 7:30 and 8:00pm and you sleep until around 6:00-7:00am.
Memorable moments:
-About 2 ½ weeks ago you began walking and you’ve been
adding more steps every day. You currently walk more than you crawl.
-You had your first major boo-boo this month. You decided
you could fly…but that didn’t work so well.
-You now say “love you” and it melts my heart every time!
-You grew another tooth…you’re up to 7!
-You like to try and “read” to Mommy and Daddy.
-We took a trip to see Granna and Aunt Karla in Georgia. We
visited mommy’s undergrad Alma Mater and took you to our friend’s new bakery.
-We lost Bella…but thanks to a miracle, she was found and
returned safely to us.

Oh Hey Friday!
My summer Fridays are becoming fewer in number. As such, I'm trying to savor every moment I have with my beautiful little family. I've got a few fun things to put out there for this week's OHF! I hope you'll join me and others in this week's link-up!
OH 1:
We've been slowly but surely putting G's playroom together. We've made great strides but we still have some touch ups (and one major project) and decorating to do. Décor will be kept minimal but that won't stop me from incorporating pieces that I love. This week I purchased a rug for the room. I've searched high and low for reasonably priced rugs. This was an unpleasant undertaking a while back when we wanted to purchase one for the nursery. I sure wish I had found this deal back then...Zulily* was running some deals on a variety of children's bedding and décor and much to my delight, I ran across this adorable Ivory Owls and Flowers rug. Not only did I get it for about half off but shipping was under $7. There were many other styles and colors but anyone who knows me knows that this was a no brainer. It will go perfect in the playroom.
OH 2:
I'm also super excited about our upcoming vacation. We booked our hotel and have been making a list of places we'll (probably) go. Thanks to my dear friend, who is a former resident, we have some new things to try!
Of course we'll scope out cupcake shops and grab some grub at Stephanos Pizza...their garlic cheese bread is a meal in itself and a must anytime we're in the vicinity!
OH 3:
Last week I blogged about some of my favorite cake decorating tools. This led up to a baby shower cake for that weekend. The elephant was sculpted from fondant.
OH 4:
We have a cookout this weekend and I'm bring these amazing Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls! Eggless and easy!
OH 5:
The other day we were in town and my hubby found this book that he said would be "just perfect" for my classroom...after reading it to G in the store, I came to the same conclusion and purchased it to add to my teacher library. It will be great to use at the beginning of the school year this fall.

Thoughts for Thursday
My Thoughts for Thursday center around our household's love of Taco Tuesdays.
::via::
Taco Tuesdays are a staple in our home. I try to make Mexican/Mexi - American meals on this night each week. I thought I'd share a few of our favorites with you. Simply click on the recipe name to make and enjoy in your own kitchen! (I wish I had taken pictures at some point...but trust me, these are pretty fail proof and for those of you who like to see what your food "should" look like, let this take the pressure off of you.)
I've got many more new recipes on my Taco Tuesday Pinterest Board that I hope to try soon.
I hope you'll join myself and others for this week's Thoughts for Thursday.

This Land is My Land
There is this world separate from everyday living. It is called the Land of Infertility. You need no passport to travel here; in fact, most of us arrive to this destination against our wishes. This trip can cost thousands and the emotional toll, while without a price tag, can be even more costly.
It is an all-encompassing journey.
As a Christian woman, I’ve always believed that I was made to procreate and nurture. Scripture even validates my belief…
Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it.” Gen. 1:28a
When we encountered the reality that we were dealing with infertility, it was as if a load of bricks had been thrust upon me. I remember thinking: I saved myself for marriage. I waited for the one God had for me…I’ve tried to live according to God’s commands. How can this be? How is it that we can’t begin this family that we’ve so often talked about having? No body tells you growing up or during the "birds and bees" speech that you could face the possibility of infertility.
I struggled for over a year with these feelings and many others that I am not proud of. Jealousy ran rampart. I experienced depression. I avoided baby showers. I cried in public at the sight of pregnant women. I was not a good friend. I was in one of the darkest times of my life. It was a time that I have no doubt that Satan fed off of.

::via::
I cried constantly. My heart continually ached. It was a silent struggle in my life that very few had any inkling about. Some days I had to force myself to venture out.
We did receive an unexpected blessing. Out of the darkness our God shined brightly upon us and blessed us with a beautiful, healthy little girl. She is sincerely more precious and amazing than we could ever imagine.

April 2013
I’ve tried to be more open about my fears and concerns regarding adding to our family in the future. Countless times I’ve been told, “Well at least you already have one.” Yes. Praise God. And I am well aware that some may never know this joy. I’ve been left feeling guilty at times for wanting more children. I’ve always had a dream of a large family. People make comments or try to give advice or try to console, and while I appreciate the good intentions, I don’t want anyone to be offended when I don’t find comfort with your words. It’s a hard place to be in. It is a very difficult journey, whether you have been trying for 2 months or 12 years, it’s never easy.

::via::
As I’ve been diving into the Word as of late, I’ve come across some similarities between my infertility journey and those in scripture. Take Sarah for instance. She was destined to bring forth a child that would influence and contribute to nations long after her life on earth was over. However, for years and on into very old age she remained barren. Her circumstances fed into feelings of anger and bitterness (Gen. 11:29) It was then that I realized, even this woman who was referred to as one of God’s most faithful (Heb. 11:11), faced a similar darkness. I was made acutely aware that there are lies. There are lies that Satan would have you dwell upon and believe. Those same lies are used to consume your hope and whittle away at your faith. Maybe you’ve heard some of these lies…
-You are alone.
-No one understands.
-You are not worthy of a child.
-It will never happen.

::via::
I want to share with you several pieces of scripture that I have written down on both paper and my heart. I repeatedly come back to these verses as reminders of God’s goodness. I hope you’ll take time to focus on them, let them sink in; let them uproot the lies that you’ve allowed to grow in your heart and mind. Remember that you are never alone.
“Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” Jeremiah 32:17
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23
“You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in Your word.” Psalm 119:114
“I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope.” Psalm 130:5
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26
Remember...when these feelings arise and reality is hard to process...you are not crazy. You're feelings are valid and above all, God is and always will be Sovereign.
It is an all-encompassing journey.

Maybe you’ve heard some of these lies…
-You are alone.
-No one understands.
-You are not worthy of a child.
-It will never happen.
-You are broken.
These are ugly, ugly lies straight from the pit of hell. These lies creep into hearts, take root, and then grow thorns into your self-worth, your outlook on life, your marriage, your friendships, and family relationships.
In all honesty, I had gotten to a point where I avoided Sunday School because it was too painful to see all of my pregnant friends and to hear about their other children. Yes, it seems lame, but in my grief filled bubble, it was what I felt I had to do.
These lies fed my bitterness with each "unexpected/unplanned" pregnancy announcement. There were times that I thought the words, “we weren’t even trying” or “we got it on the first try” would kill me.
Like I said, it was a very dark time.
As we face the issues of infertility once again, I feel these same feelings trying to surface. I’ve been diving into scripture, persistently and boldly coming to God in prayer, and clinging to what I know is Truth. When I talk about hoping for more children in the near future, I often get the response, “you had one so you would think it would be easier this time.” You would think…but no. So while I know there will be more tears shed and more moments where I have to intentionally choose my joy over the past and current pain of disappointment, I am holding fast to several verses of scripture.
It is my hope that if you are living in the Land of Infertility, that you will seek God first. His best will be more than we can ever imagine. It is also essential that you talk about it. I have made a couple of wonderful friends through an infertility support group. Even if you only confide in one person, do it. This journey cannot be walked alone.
