[Snow Days]
I have been praying for snow (and I'm not kidding) for a while now. It's winter time for crying out loud and not a single good snow...until now. Beginning Monday morning, the snow began to fall and it left our little corner of the world cloaked in white. Of course, it's only proper to enjoy it while it's here.

Last year G was too small to play in the snow...not this year!

[Naps]

Snow days mean no school for me. This means I get to stay home and spend some extra time with my sweet girl. This also means naps. She takes one good nap a day and I took the opportunities to enjoy them with her. Growing a tiny human is tiring and every nap is greatly appreciated.

Our sweet girl turned 22 months old this week! I can't believe her birthday is just two months away! I've got some plans in the works and I'm really excited to celebrate our little beauty.

[New Toys]

I have been longing for a new sewing machine for quite some time. My old machine has stitched its last and it was time to let it go. My new machine came in the mail last Friday and thanks to the snow, I was able to get it out of the box...now to find time to use it.

Five on Friday: Odds and Ends

Five on Friday has arrived once again!

Spring is coming!!! Two days of 70 degree weather has me ready for flip flops and sunshine! I put together our Spring chalkboard sign which is already being displayed in the living room.

We are inching towards G's first birthday...we're only about a month away...(we're also less than a month away from the last birthday I'll celebrate in my 20's. It's hard to believe!)

I couldn't resist this little owl fabric. It's perfect as a little Spring skirt for G. I also had to pick up this Tinkerbell material...my mom is a huge fan.

We're trying to decide what to do with our bathroom. We did a renovation on it a couple years ago. Unfortunately, we didn't get the quality that we'd hoped for...I'll save that rant for a later time. We're at a point where everything we do to our home will hopefully make it more sellable in the semi-near future. With that being said, we're working on a plan to vamp up the bathroom...a new coat of paint, a new toilet, possibly new flooring...etc. Here are some ideas. I love the idea of a brown and yellow or a grey and yellow combo. I do have some khaki colored paint that I could paint the walls. I bought it for another room but opted for something else. Thoughts? Birthday Challenge: I've decided to give this workout a go. Here is my goal...complete this routine 4x every other day until my birthday (I began this March 9 and will end it April 9). Here's to hoping I hang in there!

Baby girl is sick yet again. Although I know as her mother I have done what I can to keep her well, this is a season we must go through. I just keep telling myself that by the time she enters elementary school her immune system will be so prepped that she will not miss a day of school due to illness. Her stomach seems to have settled this morning and her 101+  temperature is back down, so now it's just a waiting game to see if the fever stays at bay.

 

I'm thankful for the above verse this morning. I continue to pray for healing in our home as we've had various illnesses pass through. The Lord is faithful to answer our prayers and He continues to pour down His goodness. So, as for this morning, we'll rejoice and worship the Lord with our daughter and then catch up on some snuggles and enjoy another episode of Doc McStuffins.

 

Today is also a special day in our home. G turned 9 months old at 1:33a.m. I cannot believe she is this old! Her milestones are so bittersweet.

 

 

 

I've been doing pretty well with keeping up on her "favorites" and various milestones to include in her baby book and her 1st year photo album. In celebration of today, I thought I'd list 9 things about her 9th month!

 

1. She is becoming quite the carrot top! Her red fuzzy head sets off her beautiful blue eyes.

 

2. She has mastered the backwards crawl...and can slither forwards if she really thinks about it.

 

3. She loves the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes".

 

4. She is beginning to clap!

 

5. She is doing a lot more "self feeding" and loves her Puffs. The only food she has refused is beets (and I don't blame her but we thought we'd try.)

 

6. Her two best friends are Bella the Moose and Baby (her baby doll).

 

7. She is teething again.

 

8.  She says "da-da".

 

9. She "talks" non-stop and loves it when Daddy, Granna or Aunt KK talk to her on speaker phone. (hmm...I wonder where she gets that from)

 

She has already achieved so many firsts. As much as I miss some of the other things, I know it will only get better from here. Speaking of firsts, her first Valentine's Day is coming up. I'm really excited to make Valentine Day cards with her for her friends at the sitter. I'm also excited about the jumper that I have planned to make her...fingers crossed I get it done in time!
