The Kids Behind the Blog: July 2017

June flew by! I feel as though I blinked and our summer is half way over! I'm trying to soak in every spare second with my littles. Hopefully July will be slower in passing. However, with July in full swing, it's time for the Kids Behind the Blog link up. Join the fun!

What do you need to make s’mores?
-marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers

What is your favorite summertime treat?
-chocolate cookies

Would you rather fly in an airplane or ride on a ship?
-Ride on an airplane because I did not ride on one before.

How would you change the world if you could?
-Be a happy person to everyone.

What comes after summer?
-Winter-fall...?

Needless to say, we've made a few s'mores over the summer lol. I'm not sure where the "chocolate cookies" answer came from because all summer she has asked for ice cream or popsicles. We also apparently need to work on our seasonal transitions.

I cannot wait to see what everyone else's little ones had to say.

The Kids Behind the Blog: June 2017

Hello June! Hello Summer! It's been far too long. It has also been a long time since I shared with The Kids Behind the Blog link-up. Here are the questions for June...

Do parents get a summer break?
-Yes, because they go see animals at the zoo in the summer.

If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
-A princess name...Elsa Camille

How much do you grow in the summer time?
-18, 19, 20...

Would you rather go to the beach or Disney World?
-Disney World. That's where I want you to take me.

What is your favorite kind of ice cream? Least favorite?
-Vanilla with sprinkles.
-I don't like green ice cream with leaves. It's disgusting. (Come to find out this is mint flavored ice cream lol.)

The Kids Behind the Blog May 2017

I’m completely bewildered by the fact that it is now May! What in the world! The past month has brought a lot of highs and lows and May seems to be following suit. At least this link-up is a true delight. I get the biggest kick out of my four year-old. I have no idea where some of this stuff comes from.
If you had a magic tree-house that could take you anywhere in the world, where would you go?

“Mmmm…to…ummm…to school!”

Finish this sentence…”Red Rover, Red Rover…”

“Under cover!”

What is your favorite memory?

“Jesus makes me happy and strong.”

What is your favorite part about nature and being outside?

“Cows and riding in my Jeep.”

What do you think Mommy would like for Mother’s Day?

“Get married!”

(for the record, I have been married to her father for almost 9 years lol)

“I’m thinking…money, and that’s all. I’m thinking that’s enough.”

The Kids Behind the Blog: March 2017

This link-up always gets me giggling. I am always tickled to hear my daughter's responses. I hope you'll join me for this month's Kids Behind the Blog.

What's at the end of a rainbow?
-Jesus!

What do you like to do when it rains?
-Go outside with my umbrella. We play and hide under the tree so we can be warm.

If you found a leprechaun at the end of a rainbow what would you do?
-Take him to see some animals and bring them home.

Tell me three ways you know it is spring time.
-You can go outside. You see leaves on the trees. And what about it being sunny?

Do you wear green on St. Patrick's Day? What happens if you don't wear green?
-Yes. What happens? I don't know.

She hasn't really celebrated St. Patrick's day so...some of this was a little hard. I honestly don't know if she's had much leprechaun exposure either lol. She will experience the fun this year at preschool so I'm sure next year's answers will be much more involved.

The Kids Behind the Blog: February 2017

February, the month of love.
There is no one I love more than my kids...
I absolutely adore the little people they are becoming and they become more entertaining with each passing month. I'm linking up with The Kids Behind the Blog for this month's love themed questions.

1) What does the word love mean to you?
-"You pray for peoples' hearts. You say kind things."
Be still my heart. Even at nearly 4 she gets it better than a lot of adults.

2) Kids choice! How do you want to spend Valentine's Day?
-"I want to go dancing."
I guess we'll be doing some dancing on Valentine's Day.

3) Do you have a Valentine? If so, who?
-"Yes. My friend Tessa at school 'cause she's my friend."

4) How many days are in the month of February?
-"4"
She will be 4 in April...so everything is currently revolving around the number 4.

5) How do you show someone you love them?
-"I love my teachers. I be kind."
She truly is such a kind and helpful little girl. She makes me feel like we're doing something right as parents.

I hope you'll join us for the link-up. I love reading what your kids come up with.

The Kids Behind the Blog: January 2017

It's still hard to believe we're now in 2017. However, it's such a treat to join the Kids Behind the Blog link-up once again.

Here are my 3 year old's responses to this month's questions. At some point my 1 1/2 yo will contribute, but until then I'll be going off assumptions and observations :)

1.) What's your favorite thing to do or play inside?
Play in the car.

2.) Have you ever seen or played in snow? If so, what's your favorite snow activity?
Yes. Make angels. (She made the motion of making Snow Angels with her arms as she tried to figure out what they were called.)

N was not a fan of the snow this year.

3.) What was your favorite Christmas or holiday gift you received?
My Elsa Barbie and my Jeep

N loves playing with his fire truck.

4.) What's your favorite winter vacation you went on? Why?
She hasn't been on a winter vacation #parentfail

5.) Would you rather live where it's warm all year round or have the seasons?
There needs to be Winter because I like snowmen.

And there you have it!

Kids Behind the Blog October 2016

I have become such a fan of the Kids Behind the Blog link-up. It is the perfect way to document the funny way our littles think. This month provided a great deal of entertainment with its questions. Here are the responses of my precious 3 year old. She always keeps me laughing.

1. What do you want to be for Halloween?
I want to be Tinkerbell...a REALLY tiny one (she uses her fingers to demonstrate just how small) and she insists that her brother will be Peter Pan.

2. Do you like handing out candy or collecting it?
I like getting candy because I want to it eat.

3. What should mommy and daddy be for Halloween?
Mommy should be Minnie Mouse and Daddy should be a prince.

4. Do you like to make a scary or happy faces Jack-o-lantern?
I want a scary face one because I want to make it by myself. (Hmmm...not quite sure.)

5. What is the best part of Halloween? What's the worst?
Best: Making Granna a Minnie Mouse like you.
Worst: Scary face pumpkins
(I questioned this based on her previous Jack-o-lantern response...she said she changed her mind and wanted a happy face pumpkin.)

She's truly a gem. What else can I say?

Kids Behind the Blog September 2016

It's time to join up with Meghan for September's Kids Behind the Blog. First off, I still can't believe it is September. I mean seriously! I do look forward to asking questions of my littles and recording their responses. I know we'll all enjoy looking back at these one day.

My baby girl is another month wiser...let's see what my three-year-old has to say!

1. What is your favorite sport? Why?
Soccer because I like to kick things.

2. If someone gave you a million dollars what would you buy?
(I altered this slightly by asking what she would buy at the store if she had a lot of money) I would get strawberry gummies.

3. Tell me 3 things that kids do better than mommies and daddies.
Dancing
Getting dressed for parties
Flying like a bird (I'm not really sure where this came from, but who am I to argue.)

4. What is your favorite thing to do in the fall?
Play on the playground

5. Share with me 3 things you like about yourself.
I'm a princess.
I like my orange hair.
I like to give hugs.

Well, there you have it. My sweet girl is something else, that's for sure. I can't wait to see what she has to say next month!

By the way, I'd ask my one-year old but he's currently saying nothing but "Pup-pup" these days as he totes around his stuffed animal puppy. I figured these questions might not be suitable for his little one track mind haha.

Kids Behind the Blog: August 2016

So...it has officially happened. My little gal has become a preschooler. I'm still kind of in shock. She has loved her first week and cannot wait to go back on Monday. She is soaking up everything!
I loved Amanda's post that included questions posed to the littles in our lives and I just had to join up for Kids Behind the Blog.

I asked G this month's questions and clarified as needed in parentheses. She makes my heart so happy.

1. What was your favorite thing you did over the summer?
Swimming in the big pool (on vacation).

2. What’s your favorite thing to learn about at school?
Singing "God our Father" for our food and snack

3. Who is your best friend from school?
Tessa and Callie

4. What do you want be when you grow up?
"Do fire" (be a firefighter)

5. What is your least favorite thing about school?
I like everything!

Her first week at school was nothing short of amazing. Her lead teacher is phenomenal both in the classroom and with communication. I get a report of how G's day was everyday and I love the little notes about things that she is learning and what seemed to really interest her. She is making new friends while rediscovering some of her old buddies from her previous sitter. We have truly been blessed by this placement.
